“Hello, I am Afrinah and i love photography”.
Let me dig in the reason that why photography is my passion. It’s because it’s simply addictive. Trust me. It’s my hobby for life. you can build a physical representation of your memories and past life. I know, You just can’t disagree with this :D. There’s no better way of documenting your memories other than having photos. That’s why I started photography in the first place.
There are different things you have to worry about before clicking a picture, like to find the perfect frame, get the lightning and the angle right, set the best aperture, choose the right lens, and so on things.. But that boost up your mind, that boost up your creativity. At least clicking pictures keeps me fresh and full of ideas for having different poses. Try it some time, i know you’ll agree with me ;)
I’m not a professional photographer. I probably never will be. I don’t care when someone says that my pictures are no good. I’m not doing this for anyone but myself. For me it’s a hobby, a very important one. I feel relaxed while doing it. Having a time with my camera makes me feel good. I enjoy an excuse to get out of my home, for a short trip with not a huge amount of time available, but to take the camera brings a whole new dimension to a dog walk, or a drive out to the near by friend or just to sit on a bench at beach and watch the waves, or feed some kittens.
After taking pictures, I eagerly wait to see what they may look like. One evening, I raced in the car on highway to catch the sunset. The sun kept moving and hiding up, as I reached each new place to snap. It was funny, It was like chasing art, like a journalist chasing a news story. It was simply exciting. I am unable to attach the picture here because it’s large. Google document is refusing :| but i am attaching a pic of small fountain i took near restaurant :D
Photography enables me to see things i may have passed by on and not noticed. For me, this conveys a memory or a place not just the image, and the feelings I felt when I took that picture. Perhaps, that shot reflected my life going well, a success or a sadness experienced at the time.
I believe, my editing skills are very weak and this needs more work. Some photographers are great with editing and I have seen some amazing work. I’ll try covering this point..
Photography has made me a happy person and helped build my confidence. Interestingly, the pictures that appear to have the most success are of flowers. I enjoy macro and can keep the camera fairly still. you can view them on my face book account :D I have few there.
I hope that may I will always be able to see and capture the moment in time :D

and do tell me how do i follow yours?
ReplyDeleteThe best part about photography is that once the photograph is taken, the camera becomes the medium and the photographer meets his/her perception. Some say it’s like looking at the mirror but I believe that the mirror shows what a person looks like from outside but photography shows what a person feels from within. I guess you take pictures to know yourself which is great. Photography can show you things what mirror or even words cannot.
ReplyDeleteI was taking a blog tour (going through different people blogs) and I stumbled upon yours, so I thought of leaving a comment. Hope it will help.
I truly agree with you, except for the thing that i take pics to know my self, instead i take pics because i love nature, i love my surrounding, i love capturing the moments and memories :D
ReplyDeleteSo nice of you :)

twilight cover picture?...hhhmmmm.....just to be sure i was referring to that point in sky when the sun is below the horizon (from sunset to nightfall).....btw that movie cover pic isn't bad either....
ReplyDeleteyeah, the red & black colored cover pic i <3
ReplyDeleteright, but that's kinda impossible to capture such scenes in city life ! all you can c is big buildings around you -.-
well that's very unfortunate for you.....am not that passionate about photography but i had this 1 great moment with it. Once i was taking pics at the monument in islamabad(shakar paria hills) of family but then suddenly i saw the sun setting behind the margalla hills. Since the monument is on a hill so i got a clear view of the twilight formed. I isolated myself and picked the perfect spot to take that pic. i guess it was the first time i took a pic of anything other than a human being :)..... it felt great witnessing such a sight and even afterwards i took that pic......hope you get such an opportunity in future
ReplyDeletei know how awesome Islamabad is, that binocular place( New Murree i guess, per i don't exactly remember the name of that place) i have been to there buddy, but was young so couldn't grab the opportunity at that time :p
ReplyDeletei know how it feels, sun setting sight at sea-view is some what similar to it !
i hope the same ;)
